The College of Richard Collyer
7th May 2006

Founded as a free boys school in 1532 by a member of the Mercer's Guild of London, and still funded in part by the guild, Collyer's is the oldest school in Sussex. The present buildings were built in 1892-1998, and the institute became a college of further education in the 1970s.
