The Church of St. Nicholas at Cranleigh.

Cranleigh church was built around the year 1170. and extended considerably in the 12th century and later. Among its interesting features are wall and ceiling paintings and a grinning gargoyle said to have inspired the Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll's 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.'
